Taken during the last year Dec school holidays.

Zann had her fun during the craft work session followed by cookies baking with Daddy.

Cough

February 2, 2012

I started my dragon year with pneumonia. And now is the “getting from bad to worse”  COUGH. From dry cough to the phlegmy cough stage. The phlegm is the worst during the day time. I feel so drowsy and lousy whole day, cannot get things done. Even reducing the dosage also doesn’t help.

I finished my cough syrup and antibiotics from the doc already :(

One of those days…

January 31, 2012

These photos were taken long before CNY.
I totally forgotten to blog about it until I looked through all the photos.

With some leftover pineapple jam, we were all ready to start the bake. For more giveaways and keeping some for Daddy who loves the tarts.  Zann showed great enthusiasm for rolling the jam into perfectly round balls.

Getting ready for spring cleaning

(Tidying and cleaning her own room)

Are remote control cars meant for boys only?

(On one occasion during CNY, Mum saw Zann playing with it.
She said girls should play with doll instead of car. )

…dozing off into the still of the night.

Dinner: Yam Rice

January 30, 2012

(Yam Rice – shitake mushrooms, chinese sausage, chicken breast, yam chunks)

I had wanted to use the yam to make Orh Nee, my favourite dessert. But then, I craving for yam rice at the same time. So there, we all had one dish dinner – yam rice.

CNY Day 7

Day 2 – CNY

January 24, 2012

I  had the longest fever record in my life. The fever started on Wed. I went back to the same GP, checked n found nothing’s wrong with me. Still, I couldn’t understand why fever keep coming back at 39C. On the fifth day (CNY eve), i was sent to CGH, feeling terribly awful. The doc there confirmed that i had pneumonia (lung infection), which was why my fever nvr subsided.  How did I get pneumonia in the first plc? strange but scary. Doc said it could be due to breathing in some bad microorganism into my lungs. pneumonia is slightly more serious than the flu kind of fever which ll take longer time to recover.

So I was recuperating at home during the CNY period. Even reunion dinner with mum was postponed.

I am now 80% on the recovering track.
Today when daddy asked if i can take steamboat lunch at home, i said yes.

CNY Celebration

… during the first meeting.

10 minutes before the meeting started…

Would you like to … ?

January 17, 2012

Everyday I would check with Zann what she eat during recess time. These few days she gave me the same answer. One fishball. YES! it’s only one fishball. And I was shocked at first. How could the girl not feel hungry at all when she only have milk in the morning. Initially I wasn’t happy to know that she spent all her pocket money in the bookshop during the 2nd week.

The idea of waking up early to prepare bento crossed my mind.

Inside, I prepared her french toast with cheese along with some fruits.

She’s asking for this everyday.

Progress

January 16, 2012

Last week, with school in full swing, Zann returned with homework, spelling list and ting xie list. She didn’t learn hanyu pinyin during her K2 chinese class in kindergarten and childcare. Now that I remember when asked. Daddy and I don’t recall seeing any hanyu pinyin in the excercise books returned back to us after each term ended last year. Neither did Chinese Teacher Guan spoke to Daddy on Zann’s progress during the parents-teacher session.

Daddy told me that Zann had expressed many times last year, asking for me to take care of her at home. Hearing that, I feel guilty about not spending enough time on her progress in school last year since Sept. Many times, I keep thinking, can I really not work? I wish.

Sun. Church, Spring cleaning, ting xie and Spelling revision.
So much to do, yet so little time.

Zann threw her tantrum, refused to learn and write while I was preparing lunch.

I think I am too anxious  getting her to grasp the hanyu pinyin tingxie fast without getting her to understand the concept.

8 hours later, she finally got the concept.
All correct when I tested her twice on last night.
She even rewarded herself with so many stickers.

Ok, I just have to do it slow and patiently.

This morning, she passed me a card:

I opened it up and saw all the hanyu pinyin inside.

I  am getting worried about her not adapting well since she was not exposed to hanyu pin yin. My chinese also not that fantastic.  Plus I am also clueless about how to go about teaching her chinese. I feel so stressed while Daddy took it easy. :(
