It’s grandmummy’s birthday on last Friday. But grandmummy was only free on Sunday.
As usual, we had our dinner together at her favourite joint again. My suggestion of trying other places was not heed.

Daddy and I spent our quiet dinner at Si Chuan Dou Hua @ UOB. Daddy chose the UOB branch for it’s nice view from 60th storey. Food was not bad although the price range was on the higher side.
Daddy loves their homemade beancurd noodle soup with dumpling. But I don’t like cos it just taste like ban mian except their noodle is made of beancurd.
We have been together for 7 years!
In the last 7 years, we hardly spent our Valentines’ Day. With so many changes happened last year, I looked back, this year was the first time we had our own quiet dinner together on Valentine’s Day. I look forward to the time, with just two of us again.

Day 2 – CNY
January 24, 2012I had the longest fever record in my life. The fever started on Wed. I went back to the same GP, checked n found nothing’s wrong with me. Still, I couldn’t understand why fever keep coming back at 39C. On the fifth day (CNY eve), i was sent to CGH, feeling terribly awful. The doc there confirmed that i had pneumonia (lung infection), which was why my fever nvr subsided. How did I get pneumonia in the first plc? strange but scary. Doc said it could be due to breathing in some bad microorganism into my lungs. pneumonia is slightly more serious than the flu kind of fever which ll take longer time to recover.
So I was recuperating at home during the CNY period. Even reunion dinner with mum was postponed.
I am now 80% on the recovering track.
Today when daddy asked if i can take steamboat lunch at home, i said yes.

I brought back mom’s homemade 粽子home.
It’s been a long time since I had homemade 粽子. The last time I had was like twenty over years ago. Mum told me she had some free time so she decided to make over the weekend.
Daddy tried 客家人的粽子 for the first time and said nice.
I also like the salted egg yolk with pork and the nonya types too.

Because grandmummy had to work on the eve, so we had an early dinner yesterday. It was an awesome dinner. Best of all, everyone’s favourite dish, 猪脚醋, and it’s not difficult to finish off everything. 
We had our steamboat and grill dinner at home today.
Christmas feasting starts …
December 25, 2010So, as usual we had the usual feasting on the eve. Talked about dieting, it’s so difficult.
Daddy’s decision to join us for lunch was last minute before leaving to meet his client. So we had our quick ‘healthy’ caesar salad lunch at Swenson.

Paragon’s playground is a good place to keep the girl occupied while waiting for Daddy to finish his work .
We decided to try the pastries from Canele. The place was packed and we waited for more than 30mins. I don’t know why the girl insisted the strawberry shortcake she saw earlier.
I told the girl I’m leaving the queue and she started to cry. She said she was very hungry and wanted that strawberry shortcake very much. That left me with no choice again but to wait.
After waiting for more than 30mins, Zann didn’t get to eat her strawberry shortcake still. Because the last piece was sold out ! So, I chose a fruit tart for her.
….while myself had the sinful rocky dark chocolate cake.
Zann received the white chocolate lollipop from Canele before we left. The supervisor apologised to us for the long waiting time. Ok, at least they remembered, not bad.
Daddy finished his work and joined us for dinner at a new burger place called The Handburger.
Daddy and I shared the grilled beef patty burger.
…..and we topped up another $4 for their caesar salad.
Zann had her battered dory fish burger in the kids’ menu. At $9.80, the set came with an apple juice, two chicken wings, one cupcake and fries. Not bad huh.
The girl finished everything on the plate except the cupcake which she said not nice.
All of us would love to come back again.
That’s how we spent our eve eating away the whole day. I’m feeling so fat. What about you? How did you spend your Christmas eve?
