Zann’s centre had a mini celebration yesterday. The girl came home and eagerly showed me her dance movements.
Oh, and she came back with rice krispie treats. Both Daddy and I were asked to finish them cos she made them by herself.

Her fever came back again…

This time, there’s phlegmy cough. I went back to the same doctor whom we saw last week. Even the doctor was surprised to see us back again.
I need a second opinion. So I asked the doctor whether it is normal for a childcare teacher to say it’s no big deal not drinking water for a day only. I did not want to push the blame but I asked for my child to be well taken of during the day. After all, Zann spend 8 hours plus in the centre and not drinking water can contribute to lower immune system. How?
But what I got back was a hostile reply and I am being labelled as a fussy parent. It doesn’t make sense.
The doctor told me to change the childcare centre. Given the kind of attitude and negligence, it doesn’t help Zann at all. Although not drinking water may not cause fever and cough directly but it definitely plays a part when the child is sick.
If you were me, do you think you can close one eye of what’s being said from your child’s teacher ?

Red top and White bottom. One crescent accompanied by five stars. 45 years old. Ninth of August. It is Singapore’s birthday!
Zann had a mini celebration in the centre on Last Friday. They were supposed to wear red top and white bottom instead of uniform. This, which I was unaware of. And it so happened that I had a gum surgery in National Dental Centre on that day too.
And well, Mrs Samad, Zann’s teacher called me. I was asked to bring down a red top and white bottom at once! I told the teacher I didn’t receive any letter. And I was not informed too.
Funny lo. I should be the one feeling upset lo. I was not even informed. No letter and nothing was written inside the communication book. I never fail to check the communication book everyday.
But I guess Zann was disappointed on that day too, seeing her peers in red except herself. She was the only one odd one out. This misunderstanding could be prevented if only the teacher and I had communicated properly.

Zann and I had left Learning Vision. While I enjoyed my stay in Learning Vision, attached with the N2 class, I realised there’s more than just taking care and teaching these young children.
I gave up the thought of home teaching Zann full time. The girl needs to interact. And classroom is still the right place for her to open up.
I still love being in childcare industry. I still love children. I will still hope for the right opportunity.
2 weeks later.
It’s also a blessing that Zann likes her new school environment now. In fact, she prefers the current centre to Learning Vision. She has made two new friends on her first day. I was even happy to know that she didn’t ask for me. It was just so different from her first day at Learning Vision last time.
Me? I feel very blessed and fortunate. Because I have found a new job in teaching again !
Daddy was hoping that I will stay long in this job.
