We didn’t go anywhere except having a dinner outside. Zann has a fever since Saturday and we don’t know what if she will eat. Despite having not much appetite, she was delighted to see the birthday cake and asked for two servings. The silly girl even put the candles on upside down.
We were invited by Aunt Selina for her boy, Noel’s birthday bash by the pool.
Zann was so anxious to join the kids at the playground which she only had a few spoonfuls of her dinner. Some shots I managed to take of the children playing together. Including Zann and Noel who were chatting over the binoculars.
Children are always children. It’s so funny by just observing them which we adults can never understand.
Noel’s lovely cupcakes for his birthday and all the children love it. Actually who doesn’t. Even I myself also love cupcakes.
Daddy and myself have planned to bring Zann to the Zoo. My last trip was donkey years ago. Now that Zann is 3yo, I guess she will be more interested to see the animals and understand better. Fortunately, the weather was good, making it perfect to spend a day there. (Click here to see the photos)
The trip was fruitful cos we have covered almost the whole area. And of cos not forgetting the highlight, Rainforest Kidzworld.
Zann didn’t manage to explore the water play area cos I didn’t want her to get wet. When we went in to the kampung house, she was afraid to explore further. I think the mannequins inside looked creepy. She prefers the Pets Corner where it offers carriage and pony rides. There are goats, bunnies and guinea pigs too. Interesting. Before we left, she had a ride at the wild animals carousel. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. One important lesson I have learnt was to bring ointment for mosquito bites, which I have forgotten.
Now that Zann has been in the centre for a year plus, we thought it would be nice to have a simple pre celebration with her little friends and teachers.
At 1100am
Busy checking and preparing the goodies bags. I chose Mickey and friends for her goodies bags. Because they are Zann’s favourite cartoon characters.
The cake was from e-creative. I ordered from them for the first time and for the last time as well. There were ants crawling all over inside the box. Peeved, I called them for an explanation. The delivery uncle came with a replacement cake after 2 hours.
At 300pm
Daddy and myself made our way to the centre with all the stuffs. It was raining heavily. I was so worried that the cake will get wet. Fortunately, I bumped onto one of the teachers, who helped me along the way. I made it just in time. The kids had woke up from their nap. Some of them saw me and shouted, “Zann’s mummy”. Zann took her bag and wanted to leave until her teacher stopped her.
When it’s time for candle blowing, she looked confused and blur. She didn’t manage to blow by herself in the end. So I had to do it for her.
Everyone had a good time. The cake was finished in no time. The little ones received their goodies bags from Zann. If only everyday is birthday celebration, I guess the kids are the happiest.

At 40C, I had high fever for more than 3 days, accompanying by tonsillitis. Zann was taken care of by my inlaw for a day. Feeling so helpless, I thought I couldn’t make it to the trip. Hb brought me to see another doctor to get a stronger medicine for my throat. By late afternoon, I was seeing myself recovering slowly, feeling better at the very least. I requested not to postpone the trip. Hb was adamant at first, until I managed to convince him though. After all, this trip was my present.
Oh well, I almost forgot that Zann turns 26 months old today. Blur me…
Hmm what else can I say about her developments so far
except that terrible two can really drives me to the wall.
And and it’s getting tougher taking care of her now.
Zann’s birthday celebration was at Downtown East.
I would like to say a big thanks to all the friends
who were able to make it on that day.
Plus, it was a working day to a lot of people.
And yes, not forgetting that Jane and Elaiine
with their precious were the first to arrive.

The table were loaded with food for the BBQ. Yummie stuffs
like spicy stingray and the mashed potato were my favourite.
But I didn’t manage eat it. Sigh…
I was so pai say too. Arh cos some of the food I bbq were burnt.
The birthday cake we chosen for Zann was decorated with
Snow white and the seven dwarfs. She actually wanted to
eat the Snow White, but I didn’t give it to her.
I was so afraid the chocolate-filled candy might be too heaty.
Zann has dozed off just before we decided it was time to cut the cake.
Some of the guests including Mrs Ong were eager to see her.
But the birthday girl was in slumberland.
Seeing her sleeping so soundly, I couldnt bear to wake her up.
Afterall, she was asleep less than an hour.
She looked kinda of blur when we were about to cut the cake.
It was like she wasn’t aware what was happening except
that there was a huge crowd in front of her.
Uncle Jeff and her girlfriend has helped us alot
in preparing the charcoal and starting the fire.
The blur me even forgot to take photo with
my good friend, Eileen. And I didn’t manage to talk to
Yizhong and the rest too.
The presents were secondary.
It’s the thought that counts.
But still, I would like to say thanks to all who came
and making this an enjoyable and memorable day for Zann.
Zann is now a cavekid.

She’s officially TWO years old today.
Happy Birthday to my precious Zann.
Hmm…not forgetting the terrible two’s symptoms,
insisting on getting whatever she wants…
Cries at every instant when she is not pleased.
She is also incredibly active nowadays.
We can never see her sitting still whether it’s home or public.
Has started to say words like hot, kiss, shue (tissue), pom pom (bath).
Though she doesnt pronounce the words accurately,
still, it’s fun hearing along with her cute expression.
She now sits with a book, studying the colourful pictures
rather than randomly flipping pages.
Nowadays she has a new cheeky habit, that’s clapping her wet palms,
sprinkling water on my face. Must have picked up from childcare..sigh
Taken on the weekend. Crying due to feeling grumpy.
Time flies…
Very soon Zann is going to turn 24 months (2 years old).
Looking back…
yes I could feel that my girl seems to grow overnight.
No longer the ‘blur blur’ baby.
This month she has been babbling alot,
turning into a talkative toddler?
I could feel that she was trying to tell me
something which I couldn’t understand also…
Oh yes, she even made an attempt to sing.
She pronounced only the part swish swish swish…la la la
in the theme song of The wheels on the bus.
She started to feed herself.
Sometimes even refused me to feed her.
Hmm…learning to be independent.
Still not yet potty trained.
(…this part which I was not been putting in effort yet)
You are my sunshine, my little sunshine,
