begins here…
It was our second visit. This time round, this outing was organised by Omy and Canon, as part of the contest to promote the new IXUS 95 IS and the Selphy CP780 photo printer. I thought we came prepared for this excursion to the bird park when something unexpected happened.
Our stroller was broken down and could not be used anymore . Fortunately, there was this stroller rental service at the entrance whereby we loaned a stroller.

Before going in, the contestants’ children were entertained by the magic tricks performance by their in-house magician.

Our first stop, another magic show performance, which Zann didn’t seem very keen on.

We then moved on to the Kings of the Skies Show performance at the Pools amphitheatre. Zann was pointing excitedly at the flying predators which we saw.
We were also looking forward to the “meet and greet” session with Pinky the penguin. Walking around under the hot sun also made us yearn for some air con. It looked like this could be the only attraction in the bird park that had air-conditioning installed.
All the children were waiting for their chance to touch Pinky.
Zann and myself together with Pinky, the penguin. It was difficult for Zann to cooperate while taking this snap shot.

The last location on the agenda was the Lory Loft guided tour. We were given liquid food mix to feed the lories. Prior to this visit, I wasn’t aware that it is a walk-in flight aviary for the lories and lorikeets.

And the funniest part was that Zann actually thought the food mix as barley drink. She started to cry when I told her that it was meant for the lories.

Finally it was time for this event to come to an end. We took the monorail back to the main station, and enjoyed the views of the bird park from within the monorail carriage. All in all, it was a wonderful family outing for us though it only lasted half a day. The weather stayed as hot as ever, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless with the rest of the bloggers and the Omy team.
