It happened at the children’s slide playarea in IKEA today.
There was this unrefined young boy who was playing with other children before Zann. Okay, he did not queue to wait for his turn. He shoved and pushed whoever was in front to get his way. He even pulled another older boy’s back collar and kicked him. Zann who was in front could have fallen down if I didn’t hold her in time.
“STOOOOPID ! STOOOOOPID ! “
I was fuming that I could hear my ears burning. Simply couldn’t take it anymore. I stopped that young boy and told him off.
“Hey boy, you are not playing the right way. How can you push and scold stupid at others ? Where’s your mummy ?”
The voice, “I am here “was heard just behind the slide.
Oh, so all along that boy’s mummy just stood and watched without correcting her own son’s behaviour. Not only did she not apologise, she was rude and her attitude was most appalling! Telling me that her son is only 3 years old and he doesn’t know anything….asking me what’s the problem.
Why are there such ‘barbaric’ people around ? Simply because they thought themselves as the only caucasian around and so asians must be labeled as stupid is it ?

gosh the mommy didn’t discipline the son… so it’s the mom who must be saying stupid at home often eh..
i always tell my kids that stupid is a Bad word…hehehe they never use the word… cos i don’t want the kids to say and these words can make some ppl feel terribly hurt inside.
anyway, i didn’t say bad means vulgar.. but they figure it out themselves when they grow up..

I am sure that lady has used to the “stupid” word all the while. So she felt nothing wrong if her son use the word in conversation.

it is always the parents’ who are at fault for upbringing kids like in this behaviour.. kids just follow what elders do..if they were not reprimanded, they would think they are right…
