Sometimes it’s a chore when I am outside with Zann. It’s even hard work when I face challenging times from her. Even though she doesn’t have a habit of pestering me to buy toys, she will not leave the place if she sees something she adores.
And that’s when I find her irritating.
She refused to give up that blue truck, even though her face told me that she’s tired. Since she’s not moving, I got her a stool. The 15 minutes of waiting paid off.
I did not enjoy this moment when she actually sat in the mid of carpark. I lost my temper and raised my voice at her. Both of us had invited the un-neccessary attention. She has sat there for about 20 mins.

I also encounter times of these when Vince refuses to follow instructions or throws tantrum in the public. Most of the times, I will give him two choices trying to sway him to the appropriate action. When this does not work, I will force carry him off the scene because he is still small-sized at the moment.

My boys can be as stubborn too. Zac just refused to attend his chinese enrichment class last Sat & I had to stand outside the class to coax him for nearly 20 mins. Waste time & school fees man

Is that Ikea?
I wonder why she doesn’t want to leave the car park?

just don’t barge eh? I don’t know if this works on pretty Zann, but it did work on my child care centre kids….
first, must find out why the thing happened. For the first one, its because of the toy. Unless you are in a hurry, if not, do let her stay till she get sick of it. its not easy for a kid to let go of something she likes at this age. “we’ll come again” future words like these don’t work for this age. They want NOW. If you are in a hurry, tell her you give her 5 mins and keep to your words. During this 5mins, don’t talk to her. Don’t look at her. Guess what, usually, in less than 5mins she will move. That’s when you HOLD her hand and move….
second, I don’t know the reason, so can’t comment much. but a very cruel way to get her off the floor is to shout, “Got cockroach under your skirt!”…. though she may end up crying, but well she did get her bum off the floor…
different ways work for different kids…. go explore more ways, super mommy Cendrine….
cendrine: Have tried the cockroach method before but doesn’t work. She’s not afraid of cockroach. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, angeline.
