Potty training

It’s time to toilet train Zann, which I had started 2 months ago. But there was no progress. Today I suggested to  her chinese teacher about bringing all the children together to the toilet, regardless whether they have the urgency. So that Zann can follow along and learn. But she told me that it’s not her job to train! Especially when she has so many children to take care.

I always thought it should be this way, parent and teacher working closely on the potty training at the same timing. Isn’t it ?

From what I feel if the child is attending child care. The staff there will have more time to teach the kids on the potty training. However, if its those 2 or 3 hr playgroup, they may not have the time :)

Perhaps start off at home, you can try her off diapers. There will be accidents, but Zann might learn from the discomfort of wetting herself. She will eventually accept to sitting on the potty.

Actually ah frm my experience , it has to first start frm home but mommy need to sacrifice by waking up in the middle of the night to set a pattern for their bladder. I did it for all my 4 kids when they are about 2 yrs old. I wake up about midnight to put them on potty. Then another time between 3 to 4 am. Initially still using the diaper as a precaution but once i see the diaper is dry most nights with this bladder training, i started to do without diaper but put a plastice / rubber sheet on the mattress as a warranty.

Then in daycare, my kids are fortunate where their teachers make it a point to let them have toilet session in between class and after teabreaks. they oso have “private part washing session at abt 4pm for those full days besides washing them during bathtime after lunch.

But again having said the above..accidents do happen sometimes..even thgh i diligently practice that midnight routine. Sometimes due to cold weather or emotional stress like they cry, upset over something, or had scolding before they went to sleep. sometimes when they r sick..taking medication oso trigger the accdent.
