I got a letter from the principle when I picked Zann from the childcare. I was later told that the centre has a case of HFMD. Worried, I voiced my concern.
She: Even though the teachers and I have taken the preventive measures, we couldn’t do much if the child has got the virus outside the centre. But don’t worry, HFMD is just like any normal cough or flu.
Me: Hur…no lei, I don’t think HFMD is common. It can cause brain damage or even death.
She: …….
Last night, after playing for awhile, she just stopped and went in the room to lie down. Not long after, she kept sneezing. Thinking to myself, I was hoping she will be fine.
This morning, I saw mucus running down.

Yes, yes, Yes!!! I’m back finally!!!! Yeah! I can’t describe how awful I felt past few days when I could not read your posts, but no worries as now I’m back!
Just be alittle more alert these days, did you ask if Zann play with that child with HFMD often?
just check Zann’s hands, sole of the foot and the inside of the mouth in the morning and night to be extra careful…early detection can reduce complications… keeping my fingers crossed for her….

What a thing to say! If it is not serious, government would not require some to school to close.

Cendrine, i understand how u’re feeling cos my boy’s class oso had a case of HFMD last tues. Since then, i didnt bring him to sch.
Im here to tell u not to worry too much, cos i had the same reaction as u when i 1st learnt the news. But our kids will be strong enough to not let this virus to attack them so easily. So stay positive alright ~
